If you already are familiar with digital cameras, then one could possibly figure this one out, but instructions basically told you how to open up and charge the battery, nothing about the different modes, and had to go on line to find some adequate instructions. Amazon still has the best deals and pricing for cameras.

The camera would turn on but the screen remained black with just a white blur on the bottom right corner. I paid extra for the camera because I thought it was supposed to be indestructible but I was very wrong. so I just got this one and Olympus came a long way with their products because the 6020 is definitely the only camera I’m going to be using from now on, I have been through two point-and-click cameras in the last few years, this one is by far the best. It is smaller and lighter, and I like doesn’t have the telescoping lens sticking out the front.

Haven’t submerged it (yet) but have used it in a rainstorm with no problems. I bought one of the Tough cameras a few years ago.

Also, no external battery charger, so you have connect it with its door open to charge it – not ideal for keeping dust and dirt out of the waterproof compartment. Its overall design and build are not impressive. The memory card that was supposed to fit in the camera didn’t slide down all the way. In all, I would not suggest this camera to anyone who enjoys sending in their camera often, and enjoys not knowing which setting to use.

It’s my second one and now, with the addition of high-def video, I really can’t say anything negative about the Stylus Tough 6020 underwater video!

I could have not asked for a better camera for my wife. She dropped it twice the first day.

This camera is head and shoulders above the other point and shoot cameras for snorkeling, outdoor shots, video in at least a decently lit location, and even indoors within 5 feet of the camera. My favorite setting continues to be – AUTO! The price seems to be drive by the tough features vs quality of pictures and video. I purchased this camera for a trip to the Caribbean. One tech person told me the problem was my iPhoto software and I should contact Apple (I thanked him, and called back to get a more knowledgeable person). After 4 calls and 2 emails to tech support, I still do not know if I need to initialize the camera or not.

This camera is completely waterproof as long as you keep the battery encasement dry and closed (and it has a lock for safety). I was worried about this at first but soon felt comfortable that it wouldn’t be ruined if I go snorkeling with it. Picture quality is awesome, it comes with easy to install software for your computer, and it records in HD! So far, I love it! I had to buy this camera for my boyfriend who is currently in Afghanistan. I haven’t yet, as I decided to see if it will grow on me. To be fair, I am using my old Olympus as a baseline, so others may not have the same expectations.
